And Jerry's business philosophy centers around delivering the best possible home to his customers by limiting the number of homes he builds each year. That way, his customers get individualized service and a relationship is built that lasts a lifetime.
Local guy. Jerry's from Garland and deeply involved in the community. That's one of the reasons he cares about building the best homes possible. His customers are his neighbors and those relationships are important to him. Plus, he grew up in the construction business, watching his father and uncles build with an old-fashioned hands-on approach. True craftsmen, they showed Jerry how to be directly involved in the building process.
Custom builder. While he does excellent remodeling and light commercial work, the majority of Jerry's work is build-to-suit custom homes. He's on-site every day to ensure quality work and he's always looking for ways to improve the homes he builds. Functional floor plans, energy efficiency and upgraded features are standards for J. Carter Homes, but Jerry doesn't stop there. He's innovative in his approach to construction. Not only does he provide a beautiful finished product, he works hard behind the scenes to make sure the legislature is aware of the needs of the consumer. Jerry helped to pass the state's first Energy Codes for new residential construction. He has worked closely with numerous state commissions and committees to provide input for improved building standards and codes.
Award winner. Jerry's list of awards is impressive, and it all stems from his desire to go above and beyond. Jerry has been a Registered Professional Builder for over 30 years because he values the program's high standards and ongoing education. He now holds the title of Graduate Master Builder (GMB) Certification from the National Association of Home Builders. The GMB achievement is shared by less than 2% of the builders in the entire nation. He keeps winning awards for his homes, too, like the Vesta Award for Best Whole House Renovation under $200,000 and the prestigious honor of being named Texas Builder of the Year.
